Visiting Rapid City / Badlands / Mt Rushmore

Held May 25-30, this multi-event poker tournament is held at locations like Saloon No 10, Cadillac Jacks and the Lucky Nugget. Runner's gear up for the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon early June. One of the best kept secrets in marathoning, the event has terrific options for all ages and abilities. The marathon on Sunday has options for a half marathon and a marathon relay. Kids can enjoy pre-marathon Kid's wonderful 1K and Final 2K for the cumulative Kids Marathon. There is a Fast 5K for family and friends of marathoners wanting to participate in an event.

Hot Springs, south of Rapid and aptly named, is site of warm rejuvenating hot springs – Evan's Plunge is a terrific spot to experience the springs. Developed on the site of the original Indian springs, there are a variety of soaking options, and kids will love the swimming pool and slides. The Mammoth Site, also a National Natural Landmark, is the largest mammoth research facility in the world.
